CPLC & AVCC in a joint operation has busted a notorious gang involved in kidnapping of a 33-year-old man belonging to a business family.
As per details, Masood Feroze was kidnapped at gunpoint from the Ferozeabad area on August 23 and kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 150 million from his family.
An FIR against Feroze’s disappearance was registered at the Ferozebad police station. It was after the family got a ransom call. CPLC’s then provided technical assistance to AVCC to trace the location of the kidnapper hideout.
An intelligence based operation was conducted by a joint team of Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) in the area of Soomar Goth near Gulshan-i-Hadeed.
In exchange of fire, two kidnappers were shot dead and their leader Abdul Malik alias Haji was arrested in injured condition while the captive was safely recovered. The fourth kidnapper, Shahbaz Jatoi, surrendered to the law enforcers following the killings.
On further investigation it was found that the gang of kidnappers were also remained involved in car-lifting cases in Karachi. Kidnapper Abdul Malik alias Haji belonged to Dera Murad Jamali, Balochistan. He had remained involved in criminal activities there as well.
